Wahoo ELEMNT Bolt GPS Bike Computer

It takes me a while to spend money. I don’t mean the buck here or there, a pair of shoes, lunch or other nominal expenditures we all need to make. I’m talking about the hundreds of dollars where I pause before grabbing the credit card. This was one of them. I’ve been mountain biking since 2006 and more recently had been using the Strava app just fine. I would jealously glance at the other riders out there with the different bike computers cradled on their handlebars. After much hesitation, ahemmm, procrastination, and research I splurged and purchased the Wahoo Elemnt Bolt GPS Computer. It was worth it!
The Bolt is the perfect companion for my rides. It’s small & light enough to not be of concern and the mounting set up is perfect when snugly snapped into the included handlebar mount. Not being a young buck any longer one selling point was the ability to deselect which functions you want to see on the main screen. As you deselect the remaining metrics get a larger font! Win, win! Not caring about color I went with the monochromatic screen and the LED information is clearly visible. The newer models are now color thus increasing the price.
There are still plenty of features I’ve not even tapped into though I did download the companion app onto my smartphone. When paired both work flawlessly. When I get home I sync my ride to the app and it also syncs to my Strava app. I’ve also yet to run out of battery life thanks to up to 15 hours of use between charges. Countless times I’ve forgotten to charge the device before a ride and I’ve yet to run out of juice.
If you’re looking to up your cycling game the Wahoo Elemnt Bolt is a must-have!
