Goal Zero Lighthouse Mini Rechargeable Lantern
Josh Miller/May 2020
The Goal Zero Lighthouse Mini Rechargeable Lantern packs one heckuva’ punch. Mine is going on 5 years old and hasn’t missed a beat. It’s been dropped, been wet (not submersed!), and used more than a lot of the gear I’ve had for a lot longer.
The dimmable 210 lumens is perfect when the kid wants a small night light to fall asleep with or to guide you into the wild when Mother Nature calls.
The on/off knob has indents for each dimmer setting. The LED bulbs put out a max of 210 lumens and are powered by a 11.6WH li-ion rechargeable battery in the tough housing. It takes about 4 hours to recharge from a USB source or suitable solar panels.
A couple really cool features…the short USB power cord actually wraps around the middle of the lantern where the USB port snaps into a small “pocket” on the lamp to stay out of the way. On top of the lantern is a foldable hook that can be pulled up to hang this fine tool, and then folded down and snapped back into place. The final cool caveat are the legs which extend down from the secured “up” position. In this position the lantern can stand on its own. Finally, with the legs stored up, there’s a really neat magnet under the base. You have something metal and need light; voila…stick it there and you’re good to go.
This tool is another one of those must-haves for those car-camping, RV living, or those off-road trailers that I pull. You won’t regret this piece of gear! Check it out on Amazon!
